ManoMano is a DIY and gardening e-commerce company. 2023 marked their 10th anniversary and they reached out to Frénésie to organize their event hosting 800 people and build a curated
brand identity. I took the lead on the art direction of this event : print design, web design, event branding and motion graphics.
After a massive brainstorm with the entire team, we decided to pick one concept : 10 years big time. Because just like humans, a 10 year-old company isn’t all grown-up. Let’s put ourselves in the eyes of this young company.
Let’s free ourselves and go back to a world viewed from a 10 year-old. Because when we work we like playing it serious, but team building events are ways to reveal our playful selves.
There were several iterations and we ended up with a proposal that felt more playful, and less “gamy”.
2 characters reflecting the Manos and Manas with elements that can be easily replicated as stickers.
There were many iterations before arriving at the final character design.
The tape and hammer were chosen as a reference to ManoMano’s core business which is mainly DIY, and to symbolize the number 10.
