Diving back to when I was playing Assasin's Creed on my refurbished PSP. That's when I first discovered about Woodkid and his powerful music.
The goal here was to select an album and create its cover using handmade elements to integrate to the composition.
Full disclosure this is a student project but I SO wish it was real. I am still very proud of how it came out. Maybe one day I'll decide to mail it to Woodkid and he'll ask for a collab. Yeah you wish.
Golden Age talks about the transition from childhood to adulthood: a boy, who starts organic and later turns himself into marble. The massive hammer represents the powerful music style of Woodkid that uses strong percussions. The broken face, that was hit by the hammer, represents the boy's dreams and expectations confronted with adulthood and the reality of life.
To convey a more organic feeling to the composition, I created a custom type lockup. It was made using a combination of two fonts: Desira and Saint Regular, with some adjustments to connect some of the letters together.
